About

Your clinician isolates gums and applies professional-strength whitening gel (with or without light activation) in measured cycles. Shade changes are immediate, while protocols and desensitizing steps are tailored to your enamel and sensitivity.

Pre-Care
Meal Preparation

Ensure you eat prior to your teeth whitening appointment. You will be required to avoid eating or drinking anything other than water for at least 1 hour after treatment.

Oral Health & Sensitivity

If you have any sores, cuts, irritation, gum disease, open cavities, leaking fillings, or tooth sensitivity, consult your dentist prior to treatment. Teeth with existing sensitivity, cracks, or dental conditions may experience increased sensitivity after treatment.

Dental Health & Cleaning

For optimal results, it is recommended to have a professional dental cleaning within 6 months prior to your teeth whitening treatment. Whitening results may vary depending on enamel condition, staining, and existing dental work such as crowns, veneers, or fillings.

Piercings & Oral Preparation

Remove any oral piercings or metal objects before your appointment to ensure safety and comfort during the procedure.

Eligibility & Restrictions

This treatment cannot be performed on pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, people under the age of 14, or those with active dental or oral conditions. Inform your provider if you have allergies (including peroxide or aloe), recent dental work, or braces removal within the last 6 months.

General Preparation

Arrive prepared for your appointment and follow all instructions provided by Platinum Medical Spa to optimize your treatment outcome. Teeth whitening results vary by individual, and natural tooth color and genetics may limit the level of whitening achieved. Individual results may vary. By booking or proceeding with treatment, you acknowledge that outcomes are not guaranteed and depend on individual factors, as well as adherence to pre and post care instructions.

Sensitivity-Smart Protocols

Uniform application minimizes streaking and patchiness.

Clinically Supervised

Performed by trained staff with appropriate protection and aftercare.

Chairside Brightening Session

Shade is recorded; lips/gums are isolated. Gel is applied in 1–3 cycles (total 60–90 minutes). You may feel brief “zingers” that fade after treatment.

Post Care
Immediate Aftercare

For the first hour, drink only water and avoid all other food or beverages.

Dietary Restrictions

For the first 24 hours, avoid stain-causing foods and drinks such as coffee, tea, red wine, colas, tomato sauce, and berries. Teeth are more susceptible to staining immediately after treatment.

Smoking Restrictions

Do not smoke for at least 24 hours following treatment, as this may affect your results and increase staining.

Tooth Appearance Changes

White spots or streaks may appear temporarily after treatment due to calcium deposits or enamel dehydration. These are not caused by damage and typically resolve within 24 hours.

Sensitivity

Mild tooth or gum sensitivity may occur after treatment and typically resolves within 24 hours. A stinging or tingling sensation may also occur during or shortly after treatment.

Maintenance & Results

Results vary based on lifestyle, diet, and natural tooth color. Whitening is not permanent, and maintenance or touch-up treatments may be required. Avoid staining agents and follow aftercare instructions to prolong results. Contact your provider or dentist if you experience persistent pain, unusual sensitivity, or signs of dental issues.
