Thermage
Book NowThermage is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to stimulate collagen production deep within the skin. It helps smooth, tighten, and contour the skin for an overall younger-looking appearance. Without needles or surgery, Thermage works in a single treatment with little to no downtime, making it an ideal choice for patients seeking long-lasting skin rejuvenation on the face, neck, eyes, and body.

Inform Platinum Medical Spa if you have any medical conditions including pacemaker, metal implants (pins, staples, piercings), epilepsy, heart disease, diabetes, neurological disorders, active infections, or if you are pregnant or nursing. Also inform us if you have facial tattoos or permanent makeup. Thermage cannot be performed on patients with an implantable pacemaker, implantable cardioverter/defibrillator (ICD), or any electronic implantable device. Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores (herpes simplex), abnormal wound healing, or previous skin irregularities.
Avoid medications and supplements that increase bleeding for at least 10 days before treatment and 3–5 days after, including Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Omega-3 fish oils, and flaxseed oil. If you are prone to cold sores, antiviral medication (e.g., Acyclovir or Valacyclovir) may be recommended. Avoid taking medications that may impair your mental ability prior to signing consent or undergoing treatment unless prescribed and discussed with your provider.
Avoid any irritated or compromised skin prior to treatment. Notify Platinum Medical Spa if you have acne, lesions, or illness before your appointment. Ensure there are no active infections, open wounds, or skin conditions in the treatment area prior to the procedure.
Arrive with clean skin (no makeup or skincare). Pull hair away from the face and wear comfortable clothing. Remove all jewelry before your appointment. For eye treatments, do not wear contact lenses. Photos may be taken before treatment for comparison and medical documentation.
Pain or anti-anxiety medications (e.g., Valium, Hydrocodone) may be used if prescribed. Pronox (laughing gas) may also be used. If taking oral medications, arrange transportation as you may not be able to drive. Do not sign the consent form if you feel rushed, under pressure, or unable to fully understand the procedure.
Treatment lasts approximately 1–3 hours depending on the area. You will feel heat sensations that may feel “spicy” but are generally tolerable. Cooling gel is used throughout the procedure. Photos may be taken before treatment for comparison. Results vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed. Some patients may require additional treatments or maintenance sessions to achieve desired outcomes. Individual results may vary. By booking or proceeding with treatment, you acknowledge that outcomes are not guaranteed and depend on individual factors, as well as adherence to pre and post care instructions.
Stimulates collagen to visibly firm and lift skin across treated areas.
Results can continue to improve over 6 months and last up to 1-2 years.
Most patients only need one treatment to see noticeable improvements.
Patients can return to daily activities immediately after the session.
Thermage is a trusted anti-aging solution that uses radiofrequency to safely heat the deeper, collagen-rich layers of the skin. This heat causes existing collagen to contract and encourages new collagen to form, resulting in smoother, firmer skin. The treatment is customizable for various areas including the face, eye area, abdomen, thighs, and arms. Most sessions last 30 to 90 minutes depending on the area treated, and there's minimal discomfort involved thanks to a cooling mechanism that protects the surface of the skin. It's a top choice for patients who want natural-looking results without surgery or repeated appointments.
No downtime expected. You may return to normal daily activities, skincare routine, and exercise immediately unless otherwise advised. Mild redness, warmth, or tenderness may occur and typically resolves within a few hours. Temporary swelling may occur and typically resolves within hours, but in rare cases may last longer.
Keep the treated area well hydrated using a gentle, non-perfumed moisturizer and SPF 30+ for at least 1 week. Wash the area gently with mild cleanser and pat dry. Makeup may be applied immediately if needed. Monitor the skin for any unusual changes such as prolonged tenderness, surface irregularities, or pigment changes.
Avoid harsh or irritating products (e.g., strong acne treatments or exfoliants) for 1–2 days. Do not rub, scratch, or mechanically irritate the treated area. Avoid heat exposure (sauna, hot tubs, excessive sun) for 24–48 hours if sensitivity is present.
Avoid Aspirin or aspirin-containing products for at least 2 weeks post-treatment. You may use Acetaminophen (Tylenol) if needed for discomfort. Contact the clinic before taking any new medications if unexpected symptoms occur.
If sedation medication was used, do not drive or operate machinery for at least 4 hours. Resume normal activities as long as there is no persistent redness, blistering, or irritation. Be aware of rare risks such as burns, blistering, or delayed healing and report them promptly.
Results develop gradually as new collagen forms over 3–6 months, with optimal results at 6 months. Follow-up photos are recommended at this time. Treatments are typically repeated every 6–12 months. Medical-grade skincare (e.g., retinol, growth factor products such as Alastin) may be recommended to enhance results.
